![]() ![]() I thought maybe Apple's developer program might offer a non-hardware solution, but I haven't found any mention of it.Īny advice? I'm not looking to develop for Mac just to run our Mac client while supporting a Mac user. I found a few videos on setting up MacOS in a VM, but they involved questionable downloads and were usually Windows/VMWare-specific. I'm already using Oracle VirtualBox on (Debian) Linux for testing on different Windows OS versions, so creating a VM there would be ideal. I'm not sure I can justify the cost of a Macbook just for support, but someone recently suggested that I could create a MacOS VM and run our client that way. Up until now, I can follow along with a Windows or Linux user I'm supporting, but I don't have any Apple hardware. Failed to query SMC value from the host (VERRINVALIDHANDLE). ![]() When I start the virtual machine I get this error: Failed to open a session for the virtual machine MACOSMONTEREY. Our Mac, Windows and Linux clients are similar, but have a few differences between them. Im running VirtualBox 6.1.32 on Windows 10 64-bit and trying to stand up my very first VM using OS-X Monterey. I work from home developing a Windows client for a startup, but we all take turns handling user support. ![]()
